POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior level position that prepares and/or coordinates full estimates on large and complex work. Provides conceptual and final estimating input on complex work or complete total bid price for GC work. May supervise junior staff members. Position normally requires 7+ years of construction estimating.

Meets all minimum qualifications of Estimator I and II, in addition to the following:
· Primarily autonomous in position
· Organize and maintain current company specifications for the company (all trades) and utilize these standards for Design/Build work unless Estimation is provided different customer specifications from Sales to follow.
· Work with sales / service on site visits to gather information to propose estimates for customers
· Perform comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between projects
· Identify key issues / opportunities that impact project success.
· Software maintenance – price increases from suppliers, updating database and estimating software
· Perform back-up to chief estimator in preparing bid documents for clients
· Support estimating functions including delegation of work, areas of responsibility, compiling estimates and preparation.
· Lead bidding process including solicitation, communication, proposals, evaluation and analysis.
· Coach and mentor direct reports / junior estimators.
· Utilize gross margin worksheets as needed.
· Assist with interviewing candidates for the Estimation Department
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Keep current and up-to-date with computer software updates
· Participate in company training programs and attend authorized external conferences or seminars as required to keep current in company and industry standards and operating procedures.
· Perform any special assignments, additional projects, or other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position as required by the executive team

· Ability to travel to various construction sites
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· 2-4 year college degree in relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Design, and/or equivalent work experience
· 7+ years of estimating experience in mechanical contracting
· Strong working knowledge of computers, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet resources
· Advanced experience with Estimation Software required
· Experience on industrial projects.
