Internship Program Overview
At Progressive Mechanical, interns become part of the team from day one. You’ll work alongside experienced safety professionals who are committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of safety leaders. This internship provides hands-on experience in construction safety, helping you build the knowledge and skills needed to promote a safe and compliant work environment across commercial construction projects.
Interns Will:
- Work alongside the Safety team to help promote and maintain a strong safety culture across active job sites.
- Assist with job site safety inspections, observations, and audits.
- Learn how to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
- Develop a deeper understanding of OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
- Assist with safety documentation, reports, incident investigations, and recordkeeping.
- Gain experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other safety management tools.
- Be exposed to multiple active construction job sites and learn how safety is implemented throughout each phase of a project.
- Work closely with field employees, project managers, and superintendents to support safe work practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Higher education degree, high school diploma, or GED.
- Must have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong desire for continued growth and learning in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
