About the Role
Progressive Mechanical is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee mechanical construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of field construction, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and timelines—ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
As a Project Manager, you will act as the “owner” of each project, taking full responsibility for execution, performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from start to finish
- Conduct initial project reviews to identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to develop execution strategies
- Manage project setup, including labor planning, permits, insurance, and documentation
- Schedule manpower and coordinate adjustments with field leadership
- Oversee procurement schedules and ensure timely material deliveries
- Coordinate subcontractors, including contracts, work sequencing, billing and change orders.
- Monitor jobsite progress for compliance, workmanship quality, and safety
- Track job costs and provide accurate monthly forecasts, cost to complete estimates (WIP reporting) and budget reconciliation.
- Prepare, approve, and submit project billings in a timely manner
- Maintain communication between field teams, superintendents, and stakeholders
- Attend job meetings and coordinate with other trades as needed
- Ensure proper documentation through project closeout, including as-builts and O&M manuals
- Assist estimating team with large project bids when required
- Ensure all permitting and inspections are completed according to regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, HVAC/R, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in construction
- Proven experience managing construction projects and leading teams
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project lifecycle
- Knowledge of construction project management software systems and utilization of AI.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong organizational and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
