Job Summary:
The Construction Site Safety Staff is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment on construction sites. They monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, identify workplace hazards, conduct safety inspections, and promote safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Coordinate tasks with the project team to identfy risks.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and government regulations.
  • Work with customers and general contractors to comply with Site Specific Safety Plan
  • Review equipment inspections.   
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct safety orientations for new workers and visitors.
  • Organize toolbox talks and regular safety meetings.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures, drills, and first aid activities.
  • Ensure fire prevention measures and emergency equipment are in place.
  • Monitor subcontractors to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Stop unsafe work activities when necessary and report violations to management.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 510 or equivalate
  • Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in construction site safety
  • Knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily works on active construction sites.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
  • May require extended working hours, weekends, or overtime depending on project requirements.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE at all times while on site.
