Position Overview
Fire Protection Designers are responsible for designing the fire protection systems for all types of projects including industrial, commercial, and residential. The fire protection designer is an important part of the project management team and supports the project manager with daily tasks in the office or out of town.
General Responsibilities
- Fire Protection design
- Submittal and RFI management
- Construction coordination meetings
- BIM coordination
- Permit applications
- Field surveys
- Stock listing for fabrication
- Material orders
Qualifications
- Education: Higher education degree, high school diploma or GED
- Auto-Cad, Hydra-Cad, and Revit experience
- Must have a valid driver?s license with reliable transportation?
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills?
- Strong desire for continued growth and learning in a team environment
- Problem solving and attention to detail
- Fire protection design experience preferred (but not required)
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams
